Fort Worth Family Lawyer
Marcy Akers brings more than twenty-five years of legal experience to her
position. Originally from Denton, Texas, Marcy received her bachelor’s
degree from the University of Rochester and her law degree from the University
of Houston before moving to Parker County, where she served as an assistant
county attorney for five years. She also briefly opened her own firm in
Weatherford, Texas, and spent several years with Bailey & Galeyn before
making her professional home at the Wynne Law Firm.
Marcy’s areas of practice include
mediations, and criminal defense. She has represented clients in hundreds of cases
involving contested and
property division, contempt, protective orders,
child support, child visitation,
child custody, adoption,
paternity, grandparent rights and name changes. Her experience has given her perspective,
and an ability to understand the legal process from all sides.
“The practice of law has various components,” Marcy explains.
“An attorney needs to be a good listener, have a solid knowledge
of the law, be a strong advocate for their client, and be an effective
communicator. Each of my clients is going through a difficult time in
their life; I respect that and I care about doing a good job, finding
out the important information, and coming up with a way to resolve the

a Past President of the Parker County Bar Association, as well as a former
member of the Weatherford Performing Arts Association Board and the Rotary Club.
