Attorney Michelle O'Neil Gives CLE Presentation on Trial Error Preservation

Today, Attorney Michelle May O'Neil held a presentation as part of a Continuing Legal Education (CLE) seminar. Titled "Trial Error Preservation," the talk focused on what counsel can do to properly document a trial error to later remedy the error or support the appeals process.

"Trial Error Preservation" gave a comprehensive view on the topic, its specific ramifications for family law cases, and how case law and recent Supreme Court decisions have come to affect this process. Attorney O'Neil covered the basics—from properly timing and recording the initial objection—to advanced issues on the topic, including those pertinent to both jury and nonjury trials.

CLE seminars and events are key to fostering an informed and dynamic legal community. They allow lawyers and paralegals to stay engaged with their practice area and promote awareness of the latest legal challenges they could face while representing their clients.

Attorney Michelle May O'Neil is uniquely qualified to speak on the subject: she has served as counsel on dozens of published cases, including several cases of first impression in the Texas Courts of Appeals. She's numerous times been industry recognized for her appellate work and has published books, articles, and papers on appellate and family law topics.

"Trial Error Preservation" was presented on Friday, August 26, 2016 at the Belo Mansion and Pavilion, located at 2101 Ross Avenue in Dallas. For more information on the event and more CLE opportunities through the Dallas Area Paralegal Association, visit their site here.
